  • A hidden gem of seclusion. I LOVE Old, Secluded, Cemeteries!!! And this one fits the bill. The road that leads to this cemetery is a historic confederate road that is no long used or managed. A historic marker informs of its history and that a convent has been assigned for years to maintain the grounds of this historic cemetery. If it wasn't for me looking for old, unused roads to off road on, I would have never found this gem!
Its been a minute since I was living near there but If I were to go back I'd take a picnic and set it up out there. It's completely isolated and peaceful. Its old, rustic, and out in the backwoods! If you pass the cemetery on this over grown historic road/trail. You'll notice the forest get thicker. The road almost becomes too thick to continue in a vehicle. If you press on you'll find a small opening on the side of the road (push through the brush with your truck) and you'll end up in a very odd but beautiful field that opens up through the thick of the forest. I would say this is a fine spot to take your off road buddies and set up a shin-dig out in the secluded backwoods! Enjoy!
